Authorities of North Central Railway (NCR) in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, have taken a significant step to improve the lives of people living around the railway tracks. The initiative aims to provide education and a better quality of life for children in the makeshift huts alongside the tracks.
The Prayagraj division of NCR has partnered with Bharat Scouts and Guides and Dreams Weavers Association (RDWA) to implement the Bharat Rail Vidya Fellowship scheme in five major cities: Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Kanpur, Tundla (Agra), and Aligarh.
A joint team of Bharat Scouts and Guides, along with the Dreams Weavers Association and railway personnel from the Prayagraj Division, will compile a list of families living near the railway tracks and enroll the children in schools based on their age. Additionally, they will collect information on family income and provide employment opportunities and assistance for sick family members.
The initiative aims to not only provide education to these children but also improve their overall living conditions promoting cleanliness and providing essential items for daily use. This effort NCR is set to bring about a positive change in the lives of those living near the railway tracks in these cities.
