Director Sanjay Gadhvi, known for his work on the “Dhoom” franchise, passed away at the age of 56 at his residence. According to his daughter, Gadhvi was healthy and died unexpectedly, most likely from a heart attack.
Gadhvi made his directorial debut in 2000 and quickly rose to prominence with the success of “Dhoom” in 2004, followed its hit sequel, “Dhoom 2” in 2006. The news of his sudden death shocked many of his colleagues and friends from the film industry.
Abhishek Bachchan, one of the actors in the “Dhoom” films, expressed his disbelief and condolences on social media, while Bipasha Basu also mourned the loss of Gadhvi. The President of Producers Guild of India, Shibasish Sarkar, and director Kunal Kohli also paid tribute to Gadhvi’s talent and friendship.
In addition to the “Dhoom” films, Gadhvi directed other projects such as “Kidnap” in 2008 and “Operation Parindey” in 2020. He is survived his wife and two daughters. Gadhvi’s legacy as a trailblazing director and his impact on the Indian film industry will be cherished forever.
