List of teams that have qualified for the 2024 T20 World Cup

Preparations for the 2024 T20I World Cup are well underway, with the International Cricket Council (ICC) already ahead of schedule to ensure a smooth event next year. The tournament is set to be co-hosted the West Indies and the United States of America (USA), with matches taking place at ten different venues from June 4 to June 30, 2024. This marks the first official ICC World Cup event in the United States.

Having won the trophy in 2022, England heads into the competition as the reigning champion, while England and host nation West Indies are the most successful teams in the competition’s history, with two titles each.

The 2024 edition of the T20I World Cup will feature 20 teams, a significant growth from the 16 teams in the previous edition in 2022. These teams will be divided into four groups of five, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the Super 8 knockouts. From there, the top two teams from two groups of four will progress to the Semi-Final, with the winners then competing for the title in the Final.

The top eight teams from the T20I World Cup 2022, along with the two host nations, gained automatic qualification for the 2024 T20I World Cup. Additionally, the next best two teams according to the ICC Rankings were also awarded automatic qualification. The remaining eight slots will be filled teams winning the regional qualifiers, with Europe, Asia, Africa, East-Asia Pacific, and Americas each receiving specific slots.

The 20 teams competing in the T20 World Cup will be: West Indies (hosts), USA (hosts), Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Scotland, Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Nepal, Oman, Canada, Namibia, and the winner of the Africa Qualifier.

Overall, the regional qualifiers will see teams competing for spots, providing a diverse and competitive field for the T20I World Cup in 2024.
