Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the T20I, ODI, and Test squads that will take on India in the upcoming bilateral series that commences on December 10. The tour will include three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests. The first Test will begin on December 26 in Centurion.
The highly-anticipated tour between South Africa and India will see fierce competition across all formats, as India looks to make their mark in this part of the world. India, despite their recent success outside of their home country, has yet to win a Test series in South Africa.
The T20I series will begin on December 10 at Kingsmead, Durban, followed matches on December 12 at St George’s Park, and December 14 at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. The ODI series will start on December 17 at New Wanderers Stadium, followed matches on December 19 at St George’s Park, and December 21 at Boland Park, Paarl. The Test matches are scheduled for December 26-30 at SuperSport Park, Centurion and January 3-7 at Newlands, Cape Town.
In preparation for the series, Cricket South Africa has announced the squads for all formats. Temba Bavuma and Kagiso Rabada will be rested for the white-ball games, making way for new faces to join the Proteas squad. Tristan Stubbs, Mihlali Mpongwana, David Bedingham, and Nandre Burger are among those who have received their maiden international call-ups and will look to make an impact.
The Indian team, on the other hand, will be led Aiden Markram in Bavuma’s absence, as they seek to build on their recent success in other tours. With so much at stake, cricket fans can expect a thrilling series filled with competitive cricket across T20Is, ODIs, and Tests.
