Neeraj Chopra, Olympic gold medalist, gives advice to Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah on increasing his pace

Neeraj Chopra, India’s rising sports star, shared valuable words of advice for ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah during the 2023 ODI World Cup Final. Chopra, who won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, suggested that Bumrah could increase his pace lengthening his run-up. In an interview with Indian Express, he said, “I feel he should lengthen his run-up to add more pace. As a javelin thrower, we often discuss how bowlers can increase their pace if they start their run-up from a little further back. I like Bumrah’s style.”

Jasprit Bumrah is currently ranked fourth in the ICC ODI Bowlers’ rankings and has been a key player for India across all three formats. With over 150 caps for India, he has picked over 350 wickets. His impressive record includes 89 ODIs with 149 wickets at an average of 23.55, and 62 T20Is with 74 wickets at an average of 19.66. Bumrah has been a stalwart for the Indian cricket team and is regarded as one of the best fast bowlers produced the country.
