In a stunning victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have attributed their win in the Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh assembly elections to the widespread acceptance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees. A BJP leader and Union Minister, Pralhad Joshi, declared that the election results are a testament to people’s trust in Modi’s leadership and their rejection of the Congress’ false promises.
Praising Modi on the campaign trail, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh stated that people have reposed their trust in Modi’s guarantees. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan credited Modi’s aggressive campaigning for the party’s performance.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje attributed the party’s victory to Modi’s belief in bringing everyone together, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also hailing the win as a result of Modi’s guidance. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur remarked that the victory is a harbinger of what is to come in 2024, while the BJP manifesto in Chhattisgarh, ‘Modi ki Guarantee 2023′, promised numerous benefits to the people.
Modi’s guarantees, which include financial assistance to women, housing for all, electrification of villages, tap water to every home, and more, gained significant traction during the campaigning period. The Prime Minister had promised that all guarantees made to the people would be fulfilled, taking a dig at the Congress’ promises.
In a jibe at Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat stated that the people have come out of the spell of the “magician.” Additionally, the Congress’ attempt to replicate the template of guarantees in other states was overshadowed Modi’s leadership and his delivery on promises.
The victory in the state elections has ignited a debate on the burden on the state exchequer due to political parties offering freebies to the voters.
