England has revealed its limited-overs squad for the West Indies tour, retaining six players from the World Cup squad, including skipper Jos Buttler. The defending champions, who failed to qualify for the World Cup semifinals in India, have kept faith in Buttler, Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone.
However, Ben Stokes, who came out of ODI retirement to play in the World Cup, will not be part of the ODI and T20I squads for the West Indies series. Stokes is expected to undergo a knee surgery upon his return to England from India.
The limited-overs tour will see England play three ODIs and five T20Is in the Caribbean. Buttler, following England’s final game in the World Cup, hinted at the need for some changes but not a complete overhaul of the team.
The ODI squad includes Jos Buttler (captain), Rehan Ahmed, Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Ollie Pope, Phil Salt, Josh Tongue, and John Turner. The T20I squad comprises of Jos Buttler (captain), Rehan Ahmed, Moeen Ali, Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Tymal Mills, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Josh Tongue, Reece Topley, John Turner, and Chris Woakes.
