Google’s AI chatbot, Bard, has received an update that allows it to respond to questions in real-time, providing users with faster and more efficient answers. The update states that responses will now appear in real-time while the chatbot is processing the query. If the response is deemed unhelpful, a “Skip response” button will be displayed.
This new feature, reported 9to5Google, aims to enhance the user experience providing instant feedback. Additionally, users can choose between two response options: “Respond in real-time” or “Respond when complete.” Microsoft’s AI chatbot, Bing Chat, also offers real-time responses.
Google has also introduced the ability to customize the response style, allowing users to choose between a more casual or professional tone. Users can verify the accuracy of the answers accessing the Search feature through the Google logo in the bottom menu bar.
Previously, Bard would provide a response only after completing the task. Now, users can preview the generated answer as it is being processed Google’s AI. This real-time feature was recently launched and is not mentioned in Google’s Bard Updates changelog.
Furthermore, Google’s AI chatbot has been integrated with various Google apps and services, such as Workspace, Maps, YouTube, and Google Flights and Hotels. This integration enables Bard to display relevant information from these platforms. Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that they have also improved the “Google it” feature, which offers additional sources to help users evaluate Bard’s responses and explore information across the web.
In earlier news, Google introduced Assistant with Bard, a personal assistant powered Generative AI. This combination combines Bard’s generative and reasoning capabilities with Assistant’s personalized assistance. Users can interact with this feature through text, voice, or images. Pichai also revealed that Android and iOS mobile device users will soon be able to opt-in to this service.
