Hyundai Unveils 2024 Santa Fe SUV with Expandable Interior and Premium Features

Hyundai revealed the all-new 2024 Santa Fe at the AutoMobility LA show, showcasing its new SUV with an “Open for More” concept focused on expanded utility. The latest model aimed to provide passengers with a wider liftgate opening and spacious interior to create a seamless connection between the interior and outdoor environment.

The unveiling of the fifth-generation Santa Fe comes with a $190 million investment from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing, LLC (HMMA) to fund tooling and equipment upgrades for production preparation.

Hyundai’s 2024 Santa Fe is expected to launch in March 2024, offering a 2.5T model, while the Hybrid model is set to hit the market in spring. The new Santa Fe emphasizes city-friendly and adventure-ready features, including a longer wheelbase with standard third-row seating without compromising interior space.

The SUV’s design combines an enlarged liftgate concept and exterior with efficient, rectangular surfacing, tailored for both urban and nature-focused settings to capture the growing outdoor lifestyle trend.

Internally, the Santa Fe’s design incorporates an H-shaped design motif to emphasize openness and balance in the upper instrument panel and air vents. It also features eco-friendly materials in both its interior and exterior components, aiming to provide a sustainable driving experience.

In terms of premium features, the Santa Fe showcases a range of offerings including a Panoramic Curved Display, UV-C sterilization compartment, dual wireless charging system, and a premium 12-speaker Bose sound system. The SUV also offers enhanced living space with increased cargo capacity and comfort features including Relaxation Comfort seats, power-reclining captain’s chairs, and adjustable second-row seating.

With regard to powertrain options, the 2024 Santa Fe provides a standard 2.5-liter turbocharged engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering an estimated 277 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. Additionally, environmentally conscious consumers can opt for the hybrid variant, which merges a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai’s emphasis on urban customer lifestyles and the natural outside environment is reflected in the company’s vision for the new Santa Fe. According to José Muñoz, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America, the 2024 Santa Fe will attract even more customers with its bold, distinctive design identity and spacious interior.

As the industry continues to innovate, Hyundai’s commitment to sustainability, design, and customer satisfaction continues to be at the forefront of its offerings.
