This tradition dates back to 1934 when the first idol was installed the Lalbaug Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, and it has since become an iconic symbol of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Mumbai. The 2023 celebration at Lalbaugcha Raja marks 90 years since the commemoration of this revered event.
