Instagram users of Threads can now delete their profile without having to delete their Instagram accounts. Threads will also allow the users to disable the automatic sharing of their posts to other apps like Instagram and Facebook, announced Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram.
Mosseri said, “We’re rolling out a way for you to delete your Threads profile separately from your Instagram account.” To delete the Threads profile, a user simply needs to visit Settings, Account, Delete or Deactivate Profile and then select delete. If the user doesn’t want to permanently delete the Threads profile, there is also an option to deactivate it.
The feature recently introduced the platform allows Threads posts to be displayed directly on Facebook and Instagram, which will increase the audience and help grow the user’s reach. To address the concerns of the community, an option to opt out of being featured outside Threads has also been rolled out.
According to Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta, Threads has now reached a milestone of over 100 million monthly active users. Also, Mosseri stated that the company is working on a Threads application programming interface (API) which will help developers create various apps and experiences around the Threads rival.
With these announcements, Threads is expected to enhance users’ experience and provide more control over the platform, as well as catering to the growing demand from the community.
