OpenAI’s board has removed its CEO Sam Altman. The board of the ChatGPT company cited that they “no longer had confidence in his ability to continue leading.” The AI company, responsible for ChatGPT, announced on Friday that it had “no longer had confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI,” stating that he was “not consistently candid in his communications.”
Mira Murati, OpenAI’s CTO, will serve as interim CEO until a permanent CEO is chosen. “We are grateful for Sam’s many contributions to the founding and growth of OpenAI,” a statement from OpenAI’s board says. “At the same time, we believe new leadership is necessary as we move forward.”
