Orxa Energies Launches Its First Electric Bike, the Mantis, in India
Orxa Energies, a Bengaluru-based EV startup, has entered the electric bike market in India with the launch of its first electric bike – the Mantis. This new electric bike is set to compete with the premium Ultraviolette F77 electric bike in the electric performance bikes segment.
The Orxa Mantis boasts India’s first liquid-cooled electric motor, setting it apart from its competitors. Priced at ₹3.6 lakh, the Mantis comes in a single variant, positioning it just below the Ultraviolette F77, which is priced at ₹3.8 lakh.
Starting from April 2024, the Orxa Mantis will be available for purchase in Bengaluru, with availability in other cities to follow. The company is currently accepting bookings for the bike on its website.
Sporting a sporty design, the Orxa Mantis is offered in two color options – Urban Black and Jungle Grey. Equipped with a mid-mounted liquid-cooled BLDC motor, the Mantis can produce 28 hp of power and 93 Nm of peak torque. In terms of performance, it offers a top speed of 135 km per hour and can go from 0 to 100 km per hour in 8.9 seconds.
The Mantis features an 8.9 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 221 km on a single charge, and can be charged from 0 to 80% in 5 hours using the standard 1.3kW charger. The bike also offers a 3.3kW charger option, which powers the bike from 0 to 80% in 2.5 hours.
