Satinderjeet Singh alias Goldy Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab, is currently in Canada.

Dreaded Goldy Brar, the main accused in the killing of singer Sidhu Moose Wala, is now the focus of security agencies following a fresh reward offered for Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias Landa. Punjab Police conducted raids at multiple locations on Thursday in an effort to apprehend criminals associated with Brar, according to official sources cited news agency PTI. The operation, which began at around 7 am, is being conducted in all districts of the state with the participation of senior police officials.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead in the Mansa district on May 29 last year, with Brar identified as the main accused in the case. Brar, who hails from Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab, traveled to Canada on a student visa in 2017 and is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

According to several reports, Brar is currently residing in Canada. In May, Interpol-Ottawa’s Fugitive Apprehension Support Team added Brar’s name to Canada’s list of the top 25 most wanted fugitives. Canada officially stated that Brar poses a risk to public safety and is the subject of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigation into serious allegations from India.

The charges against Brar in India, including murder, criminal conspiracy, and illegal firearms supply, are considered to be very serious, and a Red Corner notice has already been issued for his arrest, as previously announced Canada.

Tensions between India and Canada have escalated since New Delhi snubbed Ottawa during the G20 summit due to anti-India elements promoting secessionism in Justin Trudeau’s country. Shortly after Trudeau’s return to Canada, he accused India of involvement in the killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June. In response, Canada’s foreign ministry expelled a senior Indian diplomat, leading India to reciprocate expelling a top Canadian official with a five-day deadline to leave the country.

In other news related to Canada, gangster Sukhdool Singh, who fled from Punjab to Canada in 2017, was shot unknown assailants in Winnipeg. Singh had reportedly joined pro-Khalistan forces. As a result of the heightened tensions between the two nations, India has suspended visa services for Canadian citizens. Meanwhile, Ottawa has announced temporary adjustments to its staff presence in India for the protection of diplomats in response to threats received on social media.
