Indian actor Ranveer Singh was honored for his contribution to cinema at the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah. He received the Honorary Yusr Award at the film gala, along with Hollywood actor Diane Kruger and Saudi actor-writer Abdullah Al-Sadhan.
During his acceptance speech, Singh expressed his admiration for Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, who was also present at the opening ceremony. He thanked Depp for unknowingly teaching him about the craft and called him a “master of transformation” and an inspiration.
The festival also saw the presence of other Indian cinema personalities such as filmmaker Karan Johar and actors Katrina Kaif and Frieda Pinto.
The Yusr Awards at the festival recognize emerging and established voices across the formats of fiction, documentary, and animation. The Red Sea International Film Festival is set to conclude on December 9.
