Royal Enfield has finally launched its highly anticipated motorcycle, the Himalayan 450, in India at the Motoverse 2023 festival in Goa. The price of the bike is expected to range from ₹2.5 lakh to ₹2.6 lakh, making it an affordable option for adventure seekers.
This adventure tourer from Royal Enfield will be available in three variants at launch – Base, Pass, and Summit. Additionally, the new engine delivers a power output of 40 bhp at 8,000rpm and 40 Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm.
Siddharth Lal, the chief of Royal Enfield, shared that the bike will be up for grabs starting at Rs 2.69 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, with the top variant being available at Rs 2.84 lakh. Furthermore, the Himalayan 450 will also make its way to Europe and the UK from March 2024, with prices set at 5,900 euros and 5,750 pounds, respectively.
Lal also revealed that the inspiration behind the significant upgrade of the Himalayan came from Bruce Lee, aiming to position it as a worthy competitor to the bigger adventure tourers in the market.
The bike’s modern rugged design and a new LED headlight, along with a redesigned fuel tank and windscreen, make it an appealing choice for off-road adventures. Additionally, the Himalayan 450 features a full-colour TFT display, screen mirroring, and support for Google Maps.
The new motorcycle also offers two primary riding modes – Eco and Performance, allowing riders to customize their experience. The rear ABS can also be toggled on or off in both these modes.
When compared to its competitors, such as the KTM 390 Adventure, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 stands out with its powerful 452cc engine, offering performance and features that are unmatched in its class.
Overall, the debut of the Himalayan 450 has created a buzz in the motorcycle world and is poised to set new standards in the adventure tourer segment.
