Samantha Ruth Prabhu Embraces Her True Self Amid Social Media Trolling
Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently discussed the challenges of dealing with social media trolls and the impact of presenting her true self, including her weaknesses and strengths, to the public. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, the Kushi actress admitted that while dealing with online negativity isn’t easy, she feels fulfilled being authentic on social media.
“It isn’t easy, but I think I’ve hit a sweet spot in my relationship with social media. It’s enormously fulfilling for me to be my true self, show weaknesses, strengths, and all of the in-between. Of course, ask me again in another week when something I have said or posted incorrectly explodes and I become the target for another trolling fest and I might have changed my mind, but as of now it’s sort of a sweet spot,” Samantha said.
This openness comes after Samantha faced criticism for her alleged ‘fake accent’ at the London premiere of Citadel. Back in April, after a video from the event was shared on social media, she was targeted trolls for her speaking style, with one user accusing her of faking her accent.
Despite these challenges, Samantha is currently taking a break from acting to battle Myositis, an autoimmune condition. She recently shared a glimpse of her Cryotherapy treatment, showing herself meditating in a tub-like setup.
On the professional front, Samantha was last seen in the romantic drama Kushi, which received mixed reviews but earned over Rs 70 crore at the box office. She is set to star in the Indian adaptation of Citadel alongside Varun Dhawan, with the plot being kept under wraps. Priyanka Chopra, who starred in the original series, hinted that the Indian remake is interconnected with the original storylines.
As Samantha continues to navigate the challenges of social media scrutiny, she remains focused on embracing her true self and tackling her health issues.
