Hulu Developing New Version of Hit Series “Prison Break”
Los Angeles – Streaming service Hulu has announced plans to develop a new iteration of the popular series “Prison Break”. According to sources at The Hollywood Reporter, the project is currently in the early stages of production and will be led Elgin James, the showrunner behind “Mayans MC”.
If approved, the new version of “Prison Break” will exist within the same universe as the original series, which aired on the Fox network for five seasons and even spawned a TV movie.
However, the storyline will not focus on the original show’s central characters, played Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. Instead, the narrative will introduce fresh faces and explore new storylines.
The upcoming installment is being produced in collaboration with 20th Television and will feature executive producers Elgin James, Dawn Olmstead, Paul Scheuring, Marty Adelstein, and Neal Moritz.
Originally created Paul Scheuring, “Prison Break” revolves around Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), a man wrongly sentenced to death, and his brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), who devises an elaborate plan to help him escape from prison.
Notable cast members from the original series include Robin Tunney, Peter Stormare, Amaury Nolasco, Marshall Allman, Wade Williams, and Paul Adelstein.
Fans of the original “Prison Break” series can now anticipate a fresh take on the thrilling drama, as Hulu works to bring this new adaptation to screens worldwide. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting project.
