The Dubai Metro will be the main mode of transportation for the COP28 Presidency, according to a press release. The 2-week conference, taking place from November 30 to December 12, will be held at Expo City Dubai, and the organizers are urging all attendees to make use of the metro for faster and more sustainable travel.
The Red Line of the Dubai Metro connects the Dubai International Airport, major hotels, and popular tourist destinations in the city, allowing for easy and convenient travel for conference participants. The metro operates from 5:00 am to 1:00 am the next day, and special accommodations for passengers with disabilities are available.
During the first three days of COP28, certain roads near Expo City Dubai will be closed for security reasons, so attendees are strongly encouraged to utilize the Dubai Metro. Additionally, parking and shuttle services will be available for those who are unable to use public transportation.
Delegates of the Blue Zone will have direct access from the metro station to their designated area. Special overnight shuttle services will be available for Blue Zone delegates staying in Dubai during the conference. Complimentary shuttle buses from and to COP28 site will also be provided for Blue Zone Delegates coming from and staying in Abu Dhabi.
The Green Zone will be open to visitors from December 3 to 12, with free buses transporting delegates from the Expo Metro Station to the Green Zone’s Gates. With these measures in place, the COP28 Presidency aims to provide efficient and sustainable travel options for all participants. (ANI/WAM)
